IS Support Technician Level 2

About the position:

To be successful in in this role you will need a high level of communication and interpersonal skills, be a strong team player as well as having a commitment to Council’s values. Strong analytical and well developed problem solving skills are required as is the ability to work autonomously. This role requires the availability to work rostered shift hours (currently between 7am and 6pm), and a current NZ drivers licence is essential.

This role would suit someone with a drive to keep up to date with changes in information and communications technology is essential. You will enjoy providing both a Help Desk and Desktop Support service. This will be for the entire Council ICT environment, and will include providing technical solutions to reported incidents, service requests and approved changes. You will have proven competence in using job relevant technology and systems, including Microsoft products. Relating well to people you will have patience with those who are “technologically challenged”.

Key Skills and experience:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in desktop support in a Microsoft based environment
  • Significant experience in a help desk environment
  • At least 2 years experience with mobile phone configuration and deployment
  • Excellent Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution skills
  • Understanding of ITIL
  • Good documentation skills
  • Systems & Network administration experience would be an advantage
  • Experience with asset management and inventory controls systems would be an advantage
