Facilities Property Technical Officer

About the position:

Our District Facilities team is responsible for maintaining the assets and facilities that the Far North District Council owns, and a vacancy in the team has become available due to an internal promotion. As Facilities Property Technical Officer, your primary focus will be to plan and coordinate repairs and maintenance programs on all Council properties alongside delivery of minor Capital Works and Renewal programs. Whilst the position is based in Kaikohe, regular travel around the district within working time will be required.

About you:

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate putting the customer first, experience working with contractors, and has a background in building compliance and maintenance. You’ll also have a proactive attitude, and be open to trying new things. To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in building compliance and maintenance
  • Knowledge of Building Warrants of Fitness, Code of Compliance an advantage
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction
  • High standards of interpersonal skills both internally and externally
  • Excellent at relationship building
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to act without supervision
  • Current New Zealand drivers licence
